Field Trip to Parys Mountain ( Mynydd Parys ) mine lead by the Amlwch Industrial Heritage Trust

The “Copper Kingdom” refers to the area of Amlwch in Anglesey, North Wales which once had the largest copper mine in the world.  Copper was mined at Parys Mountain and then taken down to Amlwch Port where it was processed further before being shipped around the world. Parys Mountain retains the scars of mining activity since 1768. A number of building and artefacts remain. The Copper Kingdom Centre is based close by in Amlwch Port.
