Richard Morgan

Last night Richard Morgan gave a presentation to the assembled Associates at our usual venue in Conwy. His title was “Petroleum Geoscience in 2017: a contrarian’s view”. It was certainly thought provoking and such major questions as -‘If mudstones start out as mud and >60% water and the rock is compacted where do these huge volumes of water go to, when trapped 2000m or more below seabed ? The various resulting pressure regimes between reservoirs and overburdens became a detailed analytical discussion and left many of us asking lots of follow-on questions.
