Last night at the Royal Cambrian Academy in Conwy, Geoscience Wales held a Cluster meeting which attracted a record audience of over 80 Associates, Members and Non-members to a presentation of the International Earth Resources Centre (IERC). One of our Associates Dr Jane Huuse, a member of the IERC team, presented some of the preliminary plans for this Earth, Energy and Climate Centre, which is proposed for Llanberis. Although the project is still in its infancy, the audience were treated to a sneak preview of current architectural visions, potential centre content and anticipated future milestones. This material was well received with many offers of support pledged on the night. The next public outreach stage of the project is likely to commence in a few months’ time and provides lots of opportunity for local geoscientists to participate and help the project to progress. For those interested in offering their support, funding or ideas, please contact the IERC team: info@internationalearthresourcescentre.org

Watch this space as we will be asking Jane back for a progress report in due course.
