This field trip was lead by the Great Orme Exploration Society. The group met near the pier at 18:15 for safety briefing and the event then followed by an 18:30 start.
This required mine entry through a manhole cover near the promenade.
Wellies, gloves and old clothes were recommended, as it was wet and dirty, A head torch and helmet was also provided.
One interesting image below was of tree roots which had grown down into the mine and had subsequently been coated in a calcified ‘stalactite’.
